24 NOLLYWOOD DIRECTORS HAVE GOTTEN 6000 USDOLLARS GRANT, FUND FOR CAPACITY BUILDING BY PROJECT ACT NOLLYWOOD . out of the $6000 approved for the training, $3000 would be used for
tuition while the other half would cover the cost of travel and living
expenses for the participants during their stay in United States.
The training programme covers scriptwriting, directing, film
production and production design, special effects, lighting, sound
effect, HD techniques, acting, cinematography, make-up, editing, among
other areas.
According to the website of the project, ‘The objective of Project
ACT-Nollywood is to encourage the sustained growth of Nigeria’s movie
industry so that it realises its full potential to be a significant
creator of employment and considerable contributor to national GDP by
addressing some of the challenges currently facing the industry.
The programme aims to improve and promote key components of the movie
value chain through the provision of grants schemes designed to support
existing or aspiring practitioners within the industry, including in
the Diaspora.
